The end of the season

The 2009 season has been really successful. Membership is up to 120 members, the highest number is 10 years. A big welcome to all our new members.

Events throughout the season have included the Wimbledon Ball, which raised £742 for the club. Thank you to Helen Tyson for all her efforts in organising a really fantastic evening. The Ladies Summer tournament attracted lots of entrants and raised a massive £436 towards the club funds. The tennis teams have faired really well:

Gainsborough 1 finishing top of the evening league 1st division.

Gainsborough 2 finished 4th in the 2nd division.

Gainsborough 3 finished 5th in the 3rd division.

Both the ladies and mens Lincs League teams finished in the upper halves of their league. Mens fininshed runners-up in the regional national club league. Pickles Tournament was won by Jordan Hpillips, who also went on to win the junior tournament. The Mansfield Tournament trophies went to Jon Tyson and Pat Mumby.

Forthcoming Events

The final tournament of the year is the Rotary Mixed Doubles Tournament on Saturday 5th September 2.0 p.m. To enter, contact Phil Green before the tournament - 07861 656337.

Tennis club quiz

Phil Green will be presenting the Annual Tennis Club Quiz on Wednesday 16th September at the Whie Swan Inn, Scotter, commencing at 8.0 p.m. Everyone is welcome and please arrive early to secure a table as last year the venue was full to capacity. Great atmosphere.
